The Perry boys basketball team had the pace they wanted to play for eight minutes. They just couldn’t sustain it Thursday night as Ogden pulled away in the second quarter to defeat Perry 70-26 in non conference action Thursday night. Perry led for much of the first quarter keeping the game in single digits for the first 8 minutes. A slow start to the second quarter and Ben Heeren’s 22 points including two slam dunks seemed to fire up Ogden as the Bulldogs put the game away late in the second quarter with a double digit lead.
Perry had plenty of positives to build on including the play of guards Mario Cruz and Kato Dougan. Cruz finished with a season high 6 points while Dugan tallied 10 in the loss.
