The December portion of the Greene County Rams high school wrestling season wraps up tonight in Coon Rapids. The Rams face the Crusaders for the third time this season, and will also wrestle Collins-Maxwell and Nodaway Valley. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. It’s a homecoming of sorts for assistant Greene County coach Kirk Davis, who spent many years heading the CR-B wrestling program. He now helps first year head coach Zach Beekman on the high school level, as well as assisting middle school coach Spencer Bauer.

Coach Beekman’s Rams are 7-7 in dual meets. The top records to this point of the season belong to senior Brock Wuebker at 170 lbs. (9-1), freshman Brenner Gallagher at 106 (10-4), junior Braden Gallagher 113 (12-6), sophomore Brady Stauffer 138 (11-6), junior Will Hansen 152 (12-5), senior Clint Dennhardt 182 (5-3), and sophomore Sawyer Schiltz 220 (5-3). The Rams have not been at full strength to this point of the season. Coach Beekman indicated to Raccoon Valley Radio he’s hoping everyone is healthy, down to weight, and wrestling in January.
