A junior forward on the West Central Valley girls basketball team (2-6 overall) tops the squad in two important statistical categories. Sydney Neal is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Wildcats through the first eight games of the season. Neal, the West Central Activities Conference rebounding queen last year as a sophomore, tops the league with 95 boards. She’s the only player in the league with more than 70 rebounds so far this winter. Neal’s 90 points scored ranks seventh overall in the West Central Activities Conference. The Wildcats have lost five of their six games this season by seven points or less. The West Central Valley girls basketball team resumes their season tomorrow in a nonconference contest versus Southeast Warren.
