Two sets of Tiger girls basketball teams tangled in Adel Tuesday night with a late run deciding the outcome. The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers played host the Carroll Tigers last night in the first of two league meetings this season. ADM closed the game on a 9-0 run, overtaking Carroll, 57-52 in a game that featured 18 lead changes and 11 ties. Carroll held a 52-48 lead with three minutes remaining in the ball game. ADM head girls basketball coach Jacob Cleveland said despite the great start, there are still things to improve on during the holiday break. “We got to work on passing and sharpening up (our turnovers),” Cleveland said, “Eventually these things will get us. They did on Saturday (at Gilbert), and they almost did here, but the girls just gutted it out.”

Junior Abbie Hlas topped ADM in scoring with 18 points while senior Emma Jacobsen added 14. The win keeps ADM undefeated through five Raccoon River Conference games, improving their overall record to 8-2. The ADM girls basketball team is off the rest of the calendar year and will resume their season Tuesday, January 4 in a Raccoon River Conference contest at Bondurant-Farrar.
