Tuesday, December 18th

2:43am: A caller advised of a Barking Dog in the 300 Block of South Walnut Street. The officer made contact with a subject who resides at a residence in the area and the issue was resolved for the evening.

8:07am: Johnna Gustoff reported Unauthorized Charges on a bank account. The officer is investigating.

10:49am: An officer performed a Funeral Escort.

10:51am: A Traffic Stop was performed at Harrison and Elm Streets resulting in Amanda Huff of Des Moines being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

2:42pm: An officer attempted to remove a raccoon from a window well at 205 Briarwood Bend, but was unsuccessful. A ladder was left in the window well in hopes the animal would climb out on its own.

3:26pm: The Taylor Transit Company requested a Welfare Check on a female at 304 South Wilson Avenue, after the subject did not answer the door. They were there to take the subject to a doctor’s appointment. The officer was able to make contact with the female, who was fine.

5:01pm: A caller reported being assaulted at 307 North Olive Street on 12/17/2018. The officer is investigating.

10:39pm: John Sturgeon reported an unusual smell coming from the area of HyVee in the 100 Block of West Washington Street. The officer learned a local business was roasting coffee beans, causing the odor.
