acgcFollowing a program record fifth win in a season for the ACGC girls basketball team. The boys put on a spectacular second act against the West Central Valley Wildcats Monday night as heard on True Country K107.9. The Chargers, fueled by junior Bryce Littler’s career high 27 points, put up the best offensive effort in program history with a 92-58 win over the Wildcats.

Littler, who joins Caden Wardyn and Colton Sargent as the only Chargers to score 27 or more in a game, went toe-to-toe with Wildcat senior Cole Arnburg. Arnburg helped the Wildcats stay close to ACGC, trailing by just eleven going into the locker room at halftime. But a technical foul in the third against the future Grandview University baseball player spelled the end for WCV. The Chargers pushed the lead to 26 at the end of the third and pulled away.

A pair of Chargers joined Littler with double-digit career highs. Eli Kading notched thirteen points while Hunter Pauley added eleven off three made three-pointers for the gold and black. In addition to the individual accolades, the Chargers set a record for largest margin of victory against a conference opponent and secured the first sweep of a singular opponent on the same night for both the girls and the boys teams.

After the game, ACGC head coach Lance Kading talked about the importance of finding the right guys at the right time. “I need guys that are going to play with energy. We’re going the find the right rotation and lineup that does it. I don’t care if it’s seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshman. We’re to the point where we want to win games and we’ve got enough depth that we can find what works for us and that’s what we’re going to do.”

The Chargers improve to 2-5 (1-5). They finish off 2018 with two home games against Coon Rapids-Bayard and I-35 on Thursday and Friday respectively.
