As Guthrie County has seen highs in the 30s and 40s and little to no precipitation in recent weeks, the County Conservation Department has gotten a leg up on outdoor work.
County Conservation Director Joe Hanner shares what his staff have accomplished this month, “We roll with the weather and you have to with our type of work but we’ve been able to get some fall brush control done, mowing, cutting, and stuff on the Raccoon Valley River Trail and the Monteith Wildlife Area. With the wetness of the fall that affected the crop harvest we’ve been able to get caught up on some work that I wanted to have done earlier in the year.”
Hanner hopes to get other various tasks completed this month including area and equipment maintenance.
