Friday’s Raccoon River Conference varsity doubleheader ended early for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers basketball squads. The Tigers made a trip to central Dallas County Friday for a rivalry matchup against Perry. ADM returned south with a pair of lopsided victories. The Tiger girls basketball team, Class 4A’s No. 14 ranked squad, opened the night on a 13-0 run and never looked back for a 64-24 win. Three ADM players finished with double-figure scoring totals led by junior Abbie Hlas with 17 points. Perry’s Molly Lutmer led the Jayettes with six points. The win is the sixth in a row for the ADM girls basketball team, improving their overall mark to 7-1. A long defensive stand helped the ADM boys basketball team (4-1 overall; 4-0 RRC) to their fourth straight win inside the Raccoon River Conference. ADM outscored Perry, 42-0, in the second and third quarter to run away with a 63-11 victory. The Tiger boys also had three players finish the night with double-figure point totals. Senior Koby Hardcastle topped the Tigers with 17 points while senior Wes Evers and sophomore Nate Mueller added 10 points apiece. The ADM basketball teams resume their season today in a matinee varsity doubleheader versus the Gilbert Tigers. The varsity girls game tips off around 2:30 p.m. and the boys to follow from Gilbert High School.
