Greene County High School’s first year head wrestling coach Zach Beekman takes his team to Saydel High School in Des Moines tonight for a quadrangular with the host Eagles and Nevada, both from the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, plus Rolling Hills Activities Conference member Coon Rapids-Bayard. The Rams are 4-5 in dual meets including an 0-1 conference record. Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Instead of going to a tournament on Saturday, Dec. 15, the Rams will be hosting a wrestling Open House in the middle school gym in Jefferson from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be a “free will” lunch, plus the opportunity to watch the Rams practice, talk to the coaches and wrestlers, and look through past records and stats. This is the first time the Greene County wrestling program has hosted this type of event, and Coach Beekman is hoping to generate excitement for the program from the public.
