The ACGC wrestling team will host their second dual competition this month when they host Panorama, Ogden, and Southeast Valley in a quadrangular tonight. The Chargers are 5-0 to start the dual season. Their victories include: East Union, Nodaway Valley, West Central Valley, Bedford-Lenox, and Coon Rapids-Bayard.
Head coach Shawn Danker sets the scene for the competition coming to Guthrie Center. “It will be our ‘Pink Out’. Looking forward to another good crowd. Panorama has some good kids for us. It’s always a good matchup. Ogden, they’re improving, so they’ll have some quality kids. Good coach, so we’ll be having to be ready. Southeast Valley has some quality kids. So every dual we have to perform our best to get the outcome that we want.”
This will be the final tune-up before the conference duals on Saturday in Ogden. Unlike last year, the conference dual format will be a more traditional invitational style, with one wrestler representing each school in each weight class. Sophomores Gunnar Larsen and Gage Buttler are questionable to take the mat tonight, but are both probable this weekend. The first duals are set for 5:30pm from ACGC High School in Guthrie Center.
