One Panorama Panther varsity wrestler stood atop the podium Friday night at the Dan Christensen Invitational hosted by Central Decatur Community Schools. Sophomore Wyatt Appleseth (145) collected three more victories to win his weight class. Appleseth received a first-round bye and recorded a pair of pinfall victories over Creston’s Brayton Chesnut (1:01) and Central Decatur’s Elliott Ness (3:18) to make it to the championship bout. He grappled Van Meter/Earlham Quinn Corcoran for the second time this week in the title match. Appleseth grinded out a 9-2 decision victory, improving his record to 10-1. The Panorama Panthers varsity wrestling team resumes their competition season Thursday in quadrangular versus AC/GC, Ogden and Southeast Valley in Guthrie Center.
