Prior to Thanksgiving, Greene County High School football players Bryce Hoyle and Tyler Miller received Class 2A first team All-State recognition from the Iowa Print Sportswriters Association. Yesterday, the Sunday Des Moines Register named the same two as first team All-State players in Class 2A. Hoyle was named to the defensive line and Miller to the offensive line.

Miller committed in late  November to play college football at Iowa State University starting in 2020. He’s a 6′ 9″, 285 lbs. offensive left tackle and defensive lineman for the Rams, who is projected as a college offensive tackle. Greene County head coach Mitch Moore for some time has referred to Miller as the best offensive left tackle in the state.

Hoyle played at 5′ 9″, 210 lbs. and was both a tackle and end on defense, as well as a guard on offense. Coach Moore has called Hoyle as quick a defensive lineman at getting off the ball as seen in Iowa in years.

Greene County went from 1-8 records in 2016 and ’17 as a Class 3A program, to an 8-1 regular season as a 2A program in 2018. The Rams tied for the District 9 title, qualified for the 2A playoffs, and were 8-2 overall.
