RSVP 55+ reported strong numbers for their 2018 fiscal year.
Director Michelle Hull says they had 33 active volunteers who worked 1,784 hours. If those hours were equated to working wages of $10.25 per hour, the county had $40,554 in savings through volunteers with the Grocery Assistance Program (GAP), in-home visitation and reading to elementary students.
Hull noted about 1,325 hours were devoted to the GAP and in-home programs, while about 17 volunteers helped 187 students with one-on-one reading. She said that new this fiscal year is partnering with New Opportunities for the Mentoring Program. She adds that they are currently looking for a coordinator for Greene County.
