Donations are still being accepted for the Sarah’s Holiday Caring event taking place tonight.

For over 25 years this Stuart-based program has strived to create a more jolly holiday time for families in need with community members donating cash, clothing, toys, and more to be distributed to families who have already signed up at the Stuart American Legion at 5:30 p.m. tonight.

Organizer Kristy Lonsdale shares what donations they could still use, “We’re still looking for any donations for teen items, things that the 15, 16, 17, 18-year-olds would like, we’re taking socks, pajamas, blankets.”

Donations can be dropped off at the Stuart Herald office until 5 p.m. today. Lonsdale says they’ve received over 1,000 items through Toys for Tots so far. She adds if you did not already sign up for Sarah’s Holiday Caring, you can still come and pick up a book as they have received hundreds of book donations from residents and other book stores.
