The senior grapplers at West Central Valley Community Schools will wrestle the final home matches of their career tonight. The Wildcats wrestling team open their West Central Activities Conference dual season in Stuart, hosting a triangular event against the Panorama Panthers and the Van Meter Bulldogs. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network had West Central Valley head coach Ben Standberg on yesterday’s Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page to promote tonight’s conference dual opener. He encourages fans to come out and see the senior’s final home dual. “We want to give those seniors an early sendoff,” Standberg said, “Obviously, there’s a lot of season left but its the last time they get to compete in their home gym. (We) definitely, want to get people out.”
WCV brings a 2-1 dual record into tonight’s event, earning wins against East Union (58-24) and Nodaway Valley (52-30) last Thursday in a home quadrangular. Panorama brings a 1-2 dual record into competition tonight, while Van Meter is undefeated in two duals this winter. The West Central Activities Conference triangular between West Central Valley, Panorama, and Van Meter starts 6 p.m. tonight in Stuart.
