Tomorrow is the final day for Perry residents to take advantage of the free yard waste pickup.
Citizens who pay for garbage pickup services from the City and are located south of Willis Avenue are encouraged to place the last of their yard waste along the curb tomorrow. Public Works Director Jack Butler says in the past the City has extended the yard waste collection, but that doesn’t seem likely this year. With temperatures continuing to fall and the majority of trees throughout Perry being empty, it’s likely that tomorrow will be the last pickup of the year. Butler adds, the City had already set the final day of yard waste collection later than usual, taking into account their propensity for extending it in previous years.
Residents wanting to take advantage of the service are asked to place all their yard waste into biodegradable bags, which will need to be placed on their curb by 7 a.m. tomorrow. If there are any branches included, people are asked to cut them into four-foot lengths and bundle them together. Anyone with questions can reach out to Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481.
