DOTMotorists need be aware of plow crews out early Monday morning.

With winter weather over the weekend, plow crews were out clearing the roads and continue to clear the roads Monday morning. According to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s 511 travel website, highways 30 and 4 in Greene County are partially covered with slush. Motorists are encouraged to give plow crews plenty of room to clear the roads and drive at slower speeds when encountering plows on the road.

Because of the current road conditions, it has also caused area school delays. Both Greene County and Paton-Churdan School districts are on a two-hour delay this morning and both will not have morning preschool.

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides cancellation and postponement information, as well as road condition updates during winter weather in Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties.
