A 16 game Raccoon River Conference losing streak for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team is now a thing of the past. The Tigers dished out 19 total assists and made 10 three-point baskets in a 69-54 triumph of the Ballard Bombers Friday night in Adel. The win was the first league victory for ADM since February 2017 when the Tigers topped the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays, 64-59, in Adel. ADM boys basketball coach Aaron Mager told Raccoon Valley Radio after the game he was relieved to put their long Raccoon River Conference losing streak to bed. “I told the guys ‘that’s a nice monkey we got off our backs,'” Mager said, “I appreciate it greatly.”
The Tigers were led in scoring by senior Koby Hardcastle with 20 points, making six of 11 three-point attempts. Sophomore Nate Mueller added 14 points and dished out nine dimes in the victory. The win evens ADM’s overall record at 1-1. The Tigers resume their season Friday, visiting Madison County for a Raccoon River Conference rivalry matchup versus the Winterset Huskies.
