As this year’s harvest wraps up, area farmers, as well as the general public, are invited to attend a monthly series by Guthrie County Extension and Outreach.

Farmer’s Coffee will be held the first Friday of each month from December through March from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Extension office. Guthrie County Extension Program Coordinator Krista Downing says she’s excited to bring this program back, “Farmers will come in and they’ll listen to different speakers. This year I have lined up Marty Arganbright (Guthrie County Sheriff) to talk about keeping your farm safe, he’s in December. January I have Erika Lundy speaking, she’s our Beef Specialist at Iowa State. On February 1st, Tim Christensen our Farm Management Specialist will be talking, and March 1st, Mike Witt our Agronomist will be speaking. So they’ll just get to hear different topics throughout the four months that we’ve got those going on that will hopefully benefit them.”

This week’s Farmer’s Coffee will also feature ISU Agriculture Engineering Specialist Shawn Shouse to discuss protecting your farm property, and is sponsored by Guthrie County State Bank. Treats and refreshments will be provided. This event is free to attend and pre-registration is not required.
