The Perry High School drama department has a long road ahead of them before their production of “Seussical: the Musical” opens on April 5th, but the first step has been taken as the casting is complete.

Forty-one students were given roles, ranging from principal characters to chorus. The actors in lead roles include: Allie Taggart as the Cat in the Hat; Eoin Davis as Horton the Elephant; Dannah Karolus as Gertrude McFuzz; Ainsley Marburger as JoJo the Who; Jayden Whitney as Mayzie LaBird; Madison Mason as the Sour Kangaroo; and Jevan Stokely as the Mayor of Whoville. The musical features an assortment of songs inspired by the varied works of Dr. Seuss, including the infectiously catchy “Oh the Thinks You Can Think,” the heartfelt ballad “Alone in the Universe,” and the bombastic production number “Biggest Blame Fool.”

The Perry Drama Department is just two years removed from their acclaimed production of “Peter Pan,” for which they won several awards, and they’re anxious to bring another musical to the stage of the Performing Arts Center. See below for a full cast list.
