The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.

The meeting began with discussion followed by no action on semi-trailer parking at Michael Mills Park. Next, the Council approved the Library Board moving forward on placing a Music Park on the downtown square. The Council also approved the resignation of Kate Brown from the Library Board and the appointment of Deb Rockwell to the Board, whose term will end on June 30th, 2024. The Council then approved an agreement with Ziegler Power Systems for water plant generator support for another three years.

Finally, the Council approved paying City Clerk Joyce Calmer out of her remaining vacation time for the year as she had helped perform City Administrator Lisa Grossman’s duties when she was on maternity leave. Grossman then proposed that since the City had not been able to use a half day for City employees on December 24th the last couple of years that they could take the full day off on that Monday. The Council approved such action to have City Hall closed on the 24th-26th this year save for any emergencies.
