Residents in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area are encouraged to give towards local food pantries during the annual Caring Christmas Food Drive.
Food or monetary donations can be made at any participating business during the drive which will be donated to that community’s food bank. Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee urges participation at any amount, “You don’t have to give a lot, a can of soup (or) a can of beans goes a long way. We’ll work with cash donations, we’ll work with food donations, just get involved. The need is great this holiday season from when I’m talking to the food pantries the need is probably more this holiday then it has in the past.”
The Big Red Radio will be collecting donations and broadcasting live from 4-6 p.m. today at the Perry Hy-Vee, sponsored by the Perry Lutheran Home, and then will stop at the Adel Fareway from 4-6 p.m. tomorrow sponsored by Fuller’s Petroleum. The final stop of the week will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the Perry Hy-Vee sponsored by Eye Care Associates. While you’re making a contribution, you will be automatically entered into our $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway drawing. The grand prize winner will be announced on December 20th.
