If you haven’t yet voted for the Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library’s Festival of Trees, this weekend can be your opportunity to do so and have some additional holiday fun.
The library is hosting a Festival of Trees Open House this Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-noon in Guthrie Center. Library Director Pat Sleister says a certain crimson-dressed couple will make an appearance, “We will have Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus here from 9:30-11:30, so people can come and take their kids’ pictures with Santa (and) Mrs. Santa. And we’ve got little crafts all lined up for the kids and the adults so they can come and have something to do and something to eat and just have a good time and look at the trees and do their voting.”
This is the 18th year of the Festival of Trees, and monetary prizes will be given to the top three voted trees at the end of December. Light refreshments will be served, and the open house is free and open to the public.
