Santa will be making his first trip of the year to Greene County this weekend.

The public is invited to the second annual Breakfast with Santa event at the Greene County Community Center this Saturday. From 8 to 11am, a breakfast buffet will be served by Hy-Vee for $6 for adults and kids 12 and under can eat for free. Hy-Vee will also sponsor a cookie decorating station, plus there will be crafts, holiday music, Christmas stories and kids can get their photos taken with Santa by Meythaler Photography for a $10 fee.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner explains how well received the event was last year.

“Last year we had very positive feedback and (people) hoping that we would do it again this year. I know we had a line for Santa for a couple of hours. So we were pretty busy. It was a lot of fun and I think the community enjoyed it.”

No pre-registration needed for the public event.
