The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors convened in regular session Tuesday.
The meeting began with an Informational Technology update from David Garland with Guthrie Center Communications. Garland mentioned that there was increased email activity in the last month from fraudulent accounts and he recommended that cyber security training be offered to County employees. County Auditor Marci McClellan mentioned that in the last week a hacker requested a direct deposit change for a County employee via email which was prevented. McClellan says they are enacting a new policy that all direct deposit requests must be done in person. Next, the Board approved all but one of the 2018 family farm tax credit applications per County Assessor Nikki Carrick’s recommendation. The Supervisors denied one application due to lack of information on the applicant’s family relation to their tenant.
Finally, the Board approved the annual urban renewal report, and tabled their decision on meeting on December 25th until December 18th’s meeting.
