Guthrie County 4-H members, volunteers, and community partners were honored during this year’s 4-H awards night that took place at the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School auditorium Saturday.

Several county 4-H clubs gave reports on their activities and community involvement over the past year, and members were recognized for record keeping, the hard luck award and more.

Ruby Hummel of the Sess Rangefinders 4-H club received one of the highest honors for a 4-H member, the Outstanding Senior 4-H member award. Hummel comments on this recognition, “I was really honored because I’m glad that I meant that much to the 4-H community that they thought I deserved the award. I’m glad that I’m involved in 4-H that much and I’m helping everyone with that so yeah, I was very happy and very excited.”

Hummel served as vice-president for the past year in her club, and she looks forward to serving as president for the 2018-2019 year and expanding into further project areas and interests.
