Adel City Council 8-14

The Adel City Council will convene tonight in regular session.

The meeting will begin with a presentation from Deb Calvert, who will update the Council on the progress of the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance. During new business, the Council will consider resolutions ordering the removal of City Clerk Jackie Steele, and appointing Finance Officer Brittany Sandquist as interim City Clerk. Following that, they will determine the necessity of setting dates for consultation and a public hearing on a proposed Southbridge Urban Renewal Plan, and if it’s determined they are necessary, setting those dates.

Other items on the agenda include: discussion and possible action regarding a request by Casey’s General Store to split funding for paving a portion of Meadow Road near Highway 169; discussion on a possible moratorium of septic systems within the City limits; a services contract with McClure Engineering for the wastewater treatment plant project; a development agreement with Timberview West for turn lane improvements; rural development loan resolutions for water projects, the east annex sewer extension, and the wastewater treatment plant; setting public hearings for flood plain map updates and an amendment to the AT&T tower lease agreement; and a budget transfer for City Attorney services.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. tonight in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
