New officers were elected at this month’s Stuart Chamber of Commerce meeting.
Kristy Lonsdale was re-elected as president, Russ Wagner was newly elected as vice president, Cheryl Marks was re-elected as treasurer, and secretary has yet to be determined. The Chamber discussed the success of the revitalization committee’s inaugural Stuart Historical Walk. $673 was collected in free-will donations and costs of the event for the Chamber was around $100. A DVD of the walk is planned to be sold in the near future. As the revitalization committee is new, more people are welcome to join and bring their ideas for future Stuart events at one of their monthly meetings.
The Chamber approved Director Brenda Dudley moving forward with a purchase of window clings for chamber members to display at their businesses, and they discussed doing an Elf on a Shelf raffle contest this holiday season with a Stuart egg twist. The Chamber’s Thursday Night After Hours event is also being cancelled until the new year because of low turnout, and may return on a quarterly basis. The next Community Coffee event is on Friday November 16th from 7-8 a.m. with location yet to be finalized.
