The Jefferson Kiwanis Club has been busy organizing a couple of fundraisers.

The local civic organization recently donated 26 boxes of tissues and seven containers of disinfectant wipes to the Greene County Elementary teachers. The donation was made possible through the Kiwanis Club’s “Just for Today” challenge, where members were asked to bring in one small box of tissues or disinfecting wipes.

The Kiwanis Club is also working in partnership with Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson for a toy drive. Wild Rose employees, as well as Kiwanis Club members, are encouraged to donate toys to give to less fortunate area children during the holiday season. The public is invited to participate, by bringing by a new toy to the promenade of the casino on Sunday, November 18th from noon to 4pm. As an extra incentive, those that make a donation will receive a $10 certificate for free slot play in the casino.
