Greene County finished the high school football season with a Class 2A playoff appearance and a final record of eight wins and two losses. Coach Mitch Moore’s Ram flipped the record from 1-8 in 2017, his first year as a head coach, to 8-1 in the 2018 regular season.
Although the high school State Championship games aren’t until Nov. 15 and 16, the offseason strength and conditioning program for the Rams is getting cranked up, and the coach explains. “You know we’re going to break it up from now until Thanksgiving break, and then from Thanksgiving break until Christmas we’ll do another growth period. When we get back from Christmas break we’ll have a really good 10 week period until Spring break. Spring break will take you to that Summer break, so you’ve got about four periods of time between now and May to see who’s going to take great growth. By that time, the people that have taken great growth really prosper in the summer. I’m excited for the future of this program and certainly 8-2 is going to help us with our confidence.”
