Several local organizations are coming together to fundraise for the Bayard Community Center.

The Bayard Lions Club, Bayard Connection, Bayard Betterment Foundation, Bayard Fire Department, Friends of the Bayard Public Library, and American Legion Post No. 44 and Auxiliary are hosting a pulled pork sandwich meal tomorrow at the community center to raise money for a new sound system. Organizer John Shirbroun says when the building was constructed in the 1980s, a used sound system was purchased, and it no longer functions. A cost estimate hasn’t been determined but Shirbroun encourages residents to attend and give generously to this project. Baked beans, cole slaw, chips, bars, ice cream, and toppings will also be served for a freewill offering. The meal takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
