The City of Dawson bucked tradition this October 31st by not hosting their annual Halloween Party. The reason is that they had decided to try something a little different this year.

Tomorrow, Dawson will play host to their first ever Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off. The City Council is sponsoring the event, which will run from 1-3 p.m. at the Dawson Community Building. The all-ages event will include games, food, prizes, a hayrack ride, and a petting zoo. Additionally, aspiring chefs from the area are encouraged to bring a pot of their finest chili and participate in the cook off. The Fall Festival is free to attend, though there is a fee to enter the chili cook off or to sample the offerings. All proceeds will go to the City for future events and projects.
