Find out why Captain Hook lost his hand and why the crocodile ticks this weekend for Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School’s fall production of, “Peter and the Starcatcher.”

This Tony-award winning play is based on the 2004 novel “Peter and the Starcatchers” by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. It gives a backstory to the characters of Peter Pan, Mrs. Darling, Tinker Bell, and Hook. Senior Malena Rumelhart says the show has a fun storyline with hilarity throughout. She expresses why the community should attend the play, “I would encourage them to come out because all these people that they’ve known for so long have completely morphed into a different character, and it’s so cool to watch how everyone has just grown into these really awesome parts.”

With a minimal set and a few props, audiences are invited to use their imagination as they watch ACGC students portray pirates, mermaids, and more. “Peter and the Starcatcher” will be performed Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door.
