For the upcoming general election Guthrie County is seeing a comparable number of absentee voters from the last midterm.
Guthrie County Deputy Auditor Dani Fink says 1,685 absentee ballots have been sent out and so far they have received 1,241 submitted ballots. In the 2014 midterm election Guthrie County had 1,711 absentee voters. The Auditor’s Office will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday for those wanting to vote early or register to vote. Those wanting to register must have a valid photo ID and proof of residence. Residents can also vote early during regular office hours from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Monday, November 5th. Voters can return absentee ballots to the office before the polls close at 9 p.m. Tuesday November 6th. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than November 5th.
