perry schools

The Perry School District is excited about everything they currently have going on, but they’re concerned that information isn’t reaching as many people as they’d like. To that end, the School Board recently approved a marketing agreement with Raccoon Valley Radio for a promotional plan.

General Manager John McGee gave a presentation outlining what radio advertising can do for the District, and the Board was very receptive to the idea. Superintendent Clark Wicks says they even kicked around some ideas amongst themselves for what the ad campaign could contain. “We’re excited to partner up with KDLS, and what we want to do is let our story of the Perry Community Schools get out to the public. And we want to have a number of different voices — from students, staff members, Board members, (and) community members — that talk about the great things that are going on in our school. I know that it’s a quality school, but like John and I talked about, we need to continue to work on the perceptions of Perry Community Schools. With the voices that we’re going to ask to talk about their thoughts, I think it’s going to be a pretty cool thing!”

Through the agreement, the school will receive around three to five 30-second ads per day for a year starting October 29th. They will get additional promotion through weather sponsorship as well as ads that will play during Perry athletic events broadcast on air. The cost is approximately $9,100 per year, and will be paid from the superintendent’s budget. McGee emphasized that other school districts in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area have similar marketing agreements, and they have each been happy with the results.
