The City of Perry wants to know what the citizens think, especially when it comes to what they want out of the Parks and Recreation Department. To that end, a new survey has just gone live, and City Administrator Sven Peterson would like everyone to fill it out.

The survey is a collaboration between the ISU Department of Community and Regional Planning and SVPA Architects, as the two entities prepare a master plan for the City. The ISU class is focusing on the parks and trail systems in Perry, while SVPA is concerned with the McCreary Community Building and other recreation facilities. Peterson says the survey is an integral aspect of the master planning for both organizations, as it will give them an idea of where their focus should lie according to residents. “This is the opportunity for the public to take this survey and make sure that their voice is heard on what they need. Whether it be (an) aquatic center, more resources at the dog parks, the ball fields, (or) trails. Whatever it is, whatever your heart desires in these parks, that’s what we want to hear from you. And that’s the reason we’re doing this public outreach push.”

Paper copies of the survey are available at the Perry Public Library and the McCreary Center, in addition to being on the City’s website.
