Ben's Five and Dime Reopening

Ben’s Five and Dime in Perry has now been reopened for over a week, and the Chamber of Commerce will be helping throw an unofficial grand reopening this Friday by holding this month’s Chamber Coffee there.

Ben’s Co-Owner Jan Pattee says she’s looking forward to hosting the event, and though she has some refreshments already planned, she fears there may be a lot more attendees than she can anticipate. “I plan on making some homemade scones and getting some coffee from the Perry Perk. And I might have to subsidize my scones with other things, too! So (we’re) just having a few little treats and just letting people walk around the store and familiarize themselves with it if they haven’t been in already!”

Pattee adds, they may hold a more official grand reopening celebration in the coming weeks, but in the meantime she’s excited to host the Chamber Coffee. The Perry Chamber hosts the events the second Friday of every month as a way to bring businesses and the public together to network and learn about what’s going on in the City. The events start at 8 a.m. and typically last less than an hour.
