West Central Valley Wildcat

The West Central Valley School District is in the midst of strategic planning for the next five years, and they are seeking the community’s input on this process.

The district is releasing a community needs survey for members of the public to fill out on their website. Those wanting to complete a paper survey can find them at key locations in the district or by contacting the district’s central office.

The survey will ask what the district can do for the schools to be able to improve. It will also ask participants to share a time the district was at its best and ask them what experiences they want students to have at West Central Valley that they currently aren’t receiving. Superintendent Lance Ridgely explains why they created the survey, “The purpose behind that is we want to start a conversation with our community. We want to let them know that we care about what they have to say for the school. We’re not trying to operated in isolation. They have a voice and the different things and the vision for this district. There will be some other questions that are on there but they will all be very open ended, they’ll all be very general.”

Those who are also interested in the data desegregation process will also be encouraged to include their contact information. The survey is expected to be online for five days, and Ridgely hopes by the end of the school year they’ll have collected sufficient data for the school board to develop a five-year-plan.
