Two candidates are vying for the District Two seat on the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors in this year’s general election.
Republican incumbent Cliff Carney is running against non-party affiliated candidate Rick Kness. Carney says spending tax dollars wisely is of most concern to him as a county supervisor. Carney shares why constituents should vote for him, “I just have a love for this county I’d love to improve this county I like to hear people say ‘Wow, I like what you’re doing.’ I’ve seen roads, I’ve seen bridges improve, we’ve got more improvements to do and they will keep going forth. Guthrie County is home it’s family it’s fun it’s lifestyle and I just want to improve our county.”
Challenger Kness says the county’s roads and bridges need more attention, as well as the management of farm grounds, “If I’m voted in as the supervisor my top act would be rolling up the lines of communication and I will drive my district on a regular basis talking to our citizens about their concerns in the county and I would like to see the other supervisors do the same.”
