The 2018 Iowa High School football season saw the Panorama Panthers varsity squad return to winning form. The Panthers, who had an uncharacteristic 3-6 finish in 2017, closed their recent campaign with a 5-4 overall record. Today we’ll look back at the offensive leaders from Panorama’s 2018 season. Junior quarterback Luke South led Panorama in passing yards for a third straight season, accumulating 987 yards through the air, throwing eight touchdowns and five interceptions. Sophomore foreign exchange student Alejandro Mendez also saw time under center this season. Mendez accounted for 703 passing yards, tossing five touchdowns and three interceptions. Panorama’s rushing king this fall was South, racking up 627 yards and finding the end zone nine times. Panorama’s top passing target this season was senior Gracen Welburg, catching 39 passes for 526 yards and five touchdowns. Panorama closed the season as the king of Guthrie County football, topping the AC/GC Chargers (42-8) and the West Central Valley Wildcats (29-8) in back to back weeks.
