This past Wednesday, Raccoon Valley Radio introduced you to the candidates for each individual county in our listening area. This coming Wednesday we will continue our election preview by introducing you to candidates at the state and federal level.
The U.S. and Iowa House of Representatives Meet the Candidates Special Edition News Magazine will begin at 6 p.m. this Wednesday on each of the stations of the Raccoon Valley Radio Network. Dallas County voters should be particularly interested in the interviews for Iowa House in districts 19 and 20, as well as U.S. Congress in District 3. We will first feature Republican Chris Hagenow and Democrat Gregg Gustafson, who are running for the open District 19 seat in the Iowa House, which is being vacated following the retirement of Representative Ralph Watts.
Later in the program, we will feature two more candidates vying for the seat of a retiring representative, as Democrat Warren Varley and Republican Ray “Bubba” Sorensen are both seeking the District 20 seat vacated by Clel Baudler. Finally, we will bring listeners interviews with the three major party candidates for Iowa’s Third Congressional District, including incumbent Republican Representative David Young, and the challengers Democrat Cindy Axne and Libertarian Bryan Jack Holder.
Following its broadcast, the special edition news magazine will be available on demand at RaccoonValleyRadio.com, along with our recent county-specific program. Both segments will be available through Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 6th.
