The Perry High School Theater Department’s fall play is coming soon, and the public is invited to attend an adaptation of the classic tale of “Robin Hood.”
The show is being directed by Randy Peterson, who also helmed last year’s productions of “Dracula” and “The Dearly Undeparted.” He says “Robin Hood” is a show he’s wanted to direct for some time, and he was happy to find a version that would work well with the students he has at Perry. Peterson says it’s been fun working on the different sets and all the fight choreography, and he’s excited for audiences to see all the hard work. He also emphasizes that “Robin Hood” will have something for people of all ages.
“The show is really a great show for the whole family. Kids are going to really like the show, this is a really great kids story. Students are going to like it because it’s kind of like that timeless tale, (and) it’s got a lot of action in it. Adults are going to like it because we just have a lot of crazy stuff going on here. So I think it’ll be a really good spectacle, but I think it’ll have an interesting story for everybody.”
Senior Madison Mason, who is portraying Lord Dunstan in the play, adds that having public support for the school’s theater program is important to all the students. “Support the drama department, because we love the community backing us up. And it’ll be really appreciated for you to come see the show that we’ve been working hard on!”
“Robin Hood” will be performed on November 2nd and 3rd at 7 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in the high school office or at the door the night of the shows.
