Greene County High School will continue to be represented at the Iowa High School Music Association’s All-State Music Festival next month.
Choir Director Dave Heupel tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Jacob Hanson qualified for all-state as a tenor. Hanson also qualified for all-state two years ago. There were 15 students that auditioned this year.
As for band, Director Wes Anderson says of the six students that tried out, two made it to recalls, which included Linsey Kitt on flute and Mitchell Stevens on french horn. Stevens was then accepted as first alternate. However, Anderson points out that by Kitt being recalled, it put her in the top one-half of one-percent of high school flutists in the state.
The festival will take place on November 15th through the 17th at Iowa State University.
