Four Dallas County runners are headed to Fort Dodge on Saturday, October 27th to compete in the State Cross Country Meet, after qualifying Thursday afternoon in Glenwood.
Both Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn sent their teams to western Iowa for the State Qualifying meet. Three ADM runners managed to place in the top 15 at the meet, as did one Perry runner, which was where they had to finish to advance to State. On the boys side, ADM sophomores Nate Mueller and Ethan Juergens finished 2nd and 4th, respectively, and both will be heading to their second State Meet in as many years. For the girls, Perry freshman Jaylene Karolus and ADM sophomore Hannah Welch finished 10th and 12th, respectively. Unfortunately, none of the teams finished in the top three in qualifying, so they will miss out on competing at State as a unit.
The four individuals, though, will head to the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge for the State Meet. The Class 3A girls race will start at noon, with the boys to follow at 12:30. The awards ceremony will be held at 1:30.
