A Council Bluffs man has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison following a drug offense in Guthrie County.
According to court records, 33-year-old Blue Tyler Petersen recently pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver no more than five grams as a habitual felon, a class C felony. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on July 28th in which Petersen was pulled over by a Sheriff’s Deputy after driving the wrong way on a one-way street in Guthrie Center. The Deputy found various drug paraphernalia and approximately 4.9 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle. Court documents show that Petersen must serve no more than 15 years at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale and is eligible for parole after serving three years. He’s ordered to pay a $10 D.A.R.E. surcharge, a $125 law enforcement surcharge, and court costs. All other charges have been dismissed.
