Are you in need of a fall cleaning?

Relay for Life of Guthrie County is encouraging residents to gather up gently used items that are no longer of need for an upcoming garage sale fundraiser. Relay for Life teams and community members are welcomed to donate items for the sale happening October 26-27 at the Guthrie Activity Center. This is the first time Relay for Life of Guthrie County is hosting the event and Kim Durst with the American Cancer Society shares the inspiration behind the event, “You know we’ve just heard so many great things about garage sales that other teams have done. Breast Friends has done it in the past and has had huge success and they do it in the Adair area. We also have other Relay for Life committees that have done this in the past and have had a huge success so we just decided that we would give it a try and do this in the fall and help us kick start the fundraising for 2019 Relay for Life.”

Those wishing to donate items for the garage sale are asked to contact Vicki Crannell at 641-757-1199. Items can be dropped off from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday October 25th and from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on Friday October 26th. The Relay for Life of Guthrie County Garage Sale takes place from 4-8 p.m. October 26th and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. October 27th.
