Two Greene County projects have been slowed due to weather, but look to be completed by the end of October.
Iowa Department of Transportation Jefferson Resident Construction Engineer Jenny Hoskins says the Highway 144 project between Grand Junction and Perry is almost complete. The contractor, InRoads, has completed installing rock on the shoulders and in driveways along the roadway. The only items left are “punch list” items such as putting in rumble strips and doing some pipe work which may cause portions of the road to have some intermittent traffic control for a few days.
As for the Highway 4 project from Lincoln Way to Highway 30 in Jefferson, Hoskins notes that the asphalt portion will start soon. InRoads is looking to have the prep work wrapped by early next week and will then bring in their asphalt crew. Hoskins anticipates the project to be complete by the end of this month.
Both projects cost a combine total of $5.9 million.
