The ACGC volleyball team closed out their regular season play on Thursday with their longest road trip of the year. The Chargers opened their all-time series against the Pleasantville Trojans with a sweep: 25-12, 25-15, 25-9.
Freshman Chloe Largent once again turned in a strong performance, leading the gold and black with 15 kills and eight digs. Junior Olivia Laabs also set a Charger record with eleven aces against the Trojans, serving 25 out of 26 serves successfully. Senior Savana Fuller also finished with ten of the team’s twenty blocks.
There was more than enough firepower to allow Jadeyn Carrick some rest after tweaking an ankle in the CAM Invitational earlier this month. Carrick should be available for the Chargers’ next match, the Region 4 Quarterfinal against the winner of Madrid and Ogden on the 22nd.
The Chargers finish the regular season with a record of 20-9 (7-3). The gold and black finished in a tie for 3rd with Panorama in the conference standings, behind Des Moines Christian and Woodward-Granger. This is the second straight season the Chargers have ended the regular season at 20-9. Individually, Largent and Fuller finished at the top of the conference in kills and blocks respectively.
