The Perry School District’s Vocal Music Department is heading into one of their busy times of the year, and there are several concerts in the next 30 days.
The 2nd and 3rd grade choirs at Perry Elementary were scheduled to have concerts on October 9th, though they were postponed due to the weather. The performances will instead be held on November 6th, with the 2nd grade choir singing at 6 p.m., and the 3rd graders at 7. A few days later, the 4th and 5th grade choirs will perform, with concerts at 6 and 7 p.m., respectively, on November 13th. Each of the concerts will be at the Performing Arts Center.
Meanwhile, the Perry High School Choir has attended a few workshops so far this month, taking trips to Central College for “Sing Fest,” and Wartburg College for “Real Men Sing.” They will have a public concert this Tuesday starting at 7 p.m. in the PAC. A week after that, the choir will head to Carlisle for the Raccoon River Conference Vocal Music Festival on October 23rd. The concert is open to the public and will start at 6 p.m. Finally, the choir will once again perform during the school’s Veterans Day Assembly on November 12th at 10 a.m.
Additionally, the choirs at each of the three schools in the District will have concerts in December. The high school’s Winter Concert will be held on December 3rd at 7 p.m., the elementary school’s Bluejay Concert is scheduled for the 10th at 6 p.m., and the middle school’s Winter Concert will be the 17th at 7 p.m. Each of those concerts is in the PAC.
