The ACGC Cross Country team recently discovered who will be competing on their home course for qualification to the state meet later this month. On Wednesday, the Iowa High School Activities Association and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the joint lists for all classes.
The ranked teams competing on the girls side at ACGC include #1 Logan-Magnolia, #11 AHSTW, and #12 Tri Center. The boys field includes #2 Nodaway Valley and #9 Earlham, as well as teams to watch, Tri Center and Woodward Academy. ACGC head coach Colin Shawgo also pointed out IKM-Manning and Sidney as strong teams that will be competing in Guthrie Center next Thursday. While the girls side drew the top team in the state, top-ranked Madrid on the boys side will head to Marshalltown. The field also includes West Central Valley.
Both Charger squads competed in the West Central Activities Conference meet yesterday. Individually, Kate Crawford and Noah Nelsen both finished in 2nd place for the gold and black. Ella Waddle of Panorama won the girls race while Madrid’s Sean McDermott claimed the boys title. Both Panorama and Madrid also secured team titles at the Panorama Par 3 Golf Course.
